Individual Tuition (Up to £45 per hour)
Thanet Dyslexia Services provides one-to-one specialist tuition for primary and secondary school children.
- Detailed preparation is carried out before each session to maximise learning for each individual.
- Individualised hour-long sessions with teaching that is structured, cumulative and multisensory.
- Close attention is paid to recommendations in the assessment report if one is available.
- Access to technology to support learning where appropriate.
- Focus on the development of metacognition strategies where individuals are encouraged to explore what works for them and to transfer skills into their learning.
- Lessons can take place during the school day within the student's school (if the school is happy to facilitate this), at a premises in Ramsgate if a student is home-schooled, or during holidays. Alternatively, they can take place outside of school hours, subject to limited availability.
- The hourly rate includes all travel expenses, travel time, insurance costs, and any materials used during lessons.
- Lessons can take place term-time only or can continue throughout the holidays.
- Weekly feedback to parents/carers via phone or email.
- Twice yearly written reports outlining progress.
