Thanet Dyslexia Services, established by Jennifer Jennings, offers a range of outstanding services from dyslexia assessment to dyslexia support and help with exam access arrangements. Thanet Dyslexia Services prides itself on offering outstanding service and guidance through the assessment process and the journey beyond.
Our assessments provide tailored recommendations, excellent personal communication, quick feedback, and a written diagnostic report that adheres to SASC guidelines. All our assessors hold an Assessment Practising Certificate (APC) and up-to-date Associate Membership with the British Dyslexia Association (AMBDA). An APC underpins a dyslexia assessor’s qualifications and competence, enabling them to undertake full diagnostic assessments for Specific Learning Difficulty (SpLD): Dyslexia. These reports can be used to apply for Disability Students' Allowance (DSA) for third-level students.
Thanet Dyslexia Services also provides one-to-one tuition to those with or without a diagnosis of dyslexia. The aim here is to ensure that lessons are tailored to the individual learner's needs, using the latest research to inform teaching. All lessons adopt a multi-sensory and cumulative approach aimed at building knowledge in a fun and interactive way. The focus is on metacognition with individuals using their strengths to address areas of difficulty, making learning an engaging and enjoyable experience.
Developing confidence and independence is at the heart of everything we do. With the school's agreement and depending on location, lessons can take place during the school day at the student’s school, ensuring a seamless and coordinated approach between the tutor, home, and school. This collaboration is designed to provide the best possible support for your child.
